(this is a long overdue post..)

我是在飛機上看這部電影的.. 我一邊看, 眼淚不由自主地流下來.. 真的十分感動..
我買了這部電影的 DVD 回來給 LG 看, 他也覺得很感動而流下淚來..

這部電影是改編自愛爾蘭女作家 Cecelia Ahern 的同名小說.. 這次我連小說也買回來.. 因為我真的覺得電影拍得這個故事很細緻, 很想看看原著是不是也一樣!!
(很少看 Hilary Swank 拍的愛情片, 原來她也很有喜劇細胞的..)

故事一開始便是兩夫妻在睡房吵架, 但很快大家已經不想為小事爭執而相擁起來.. 這 intro 交代了 Holly (Hilary Swank) 和 Gerry (Gerard Butler) 的關係, 是不願意有一分鐘和對方分開的.. 鏡頭一轉就已經到 Gerry 的 funeral party..

Holly 在 30歲前已經失去了她最愛的丈夫, Gerry 亦估計到 Holly 無法自己振作起來, 所以留下 12 封情信給 Holly, 希望可以幫助她度過最艱難的日子..

每一封信也會以不同的形式出現, 每次 Gerry 都有不同的安排給 Holly.. 而每封信的最後 Gerry 也會以 "P.S. I Love You" 來完結.. 令 Holly 仍然感受到被愛..

每一段 Holly 和 Gerry 在一起的場面也十分感人.. 但這電影不單止講愛情, 還有友情及親情..

最後一封信是由 Holly 媽媽交給 Holly 的; 而 Holly 就在那時發現, 原來是 Gerry 求她媽媽代他寄出所有信件的.. Holly媽媽一直也不喜歡 Gerry, 但正因為 Gerry 的離世, 令 Holly 和她媽媽的關係進一步改善..

傷城 Confession of Pain

(剛把一大批還未開封的 DVD 拿出來.. 才發現原來自己在這幾年來買了很多電影 DVD，但一直沒有時間看..)

這是一個傷感的故事..
看完後心情一直很沉重..

故事是在 2003 年的平安夜，由兇殺組總督察劉正熙(梁朝偉飾)與探員丘建邦(金城武飾)拘捕了一個連環姦殺犯開始。丘建邦因在聖誕日發現女友 Rachel 自殺，他轉行當私家偵探並變成了酒鬼。丘建邦最好的朋友，劉正熙謀殺了他太太周淑珍(徐靜蕾飾)的父親。劉正熙刻意留下每一個證據，將罪名加在兩名無業遊民陳偉強和黃明身上。當劉正熙以為一切皆在他的計算之中時，他太太周淑珍竟因為一個理由而對這案件產生懷疑，並請丘建邦為她偵查。


很多人把這部戲《無間道》比較，但我認為應該獨立地看它。
這是一齣劇情片，講人內心的哀傷、痛苦、掙扎和仇恨。

梁朝偉所飾演冷靜清醒的劉正熙，與金城武飾演醉酒的丘健邦，好像成了一個對比。兩個人都背負著傷痛的過去，但卻選擇了不同的方式去面對。

非常欣賞梁朝偉的演出，他很少扮演壞人的角色，但我覺得他演繹得很好。 梁朝偉的角色十分陰沈，尤其是當他帶上那副眼鏡時，更份外顯得深藏不露。而有一場是我很喜歡的，就是當丘建邦告訴劉正熙，他太太並不是周元勝的親生女時，劉正熙那時的反應。正因為周元勝殺了他的家人，所以他佈局殺害自己的太太(即周元勝的女兒)來報仇，但原來一切都出乎他意料之外。梁朝偉的演繹真的很出神入化，從他的表情可以感受到他內心的矛盾、後悔。

另外有某些佈局/鋪排是很出色的.. 例如劉正熙是陳偉強的秘密，竟然是寫在他小學比賽中贏得冠軍的乒乓球拍上，他二十多年來一直把它留在身邊，但正因為這乒乓球拍，令丘建邦再回澳門追查真相，繼而發現澳門餐廳真正的「劉正熙」部長。結局亦處理得很出色。

《傷城》原來是叫《雙城》，城又不是城市那個城，而是城府那個城，經過莊文強及麥兆輝寫了六稿之後，變成了現在這個故事。


《傷城》-- 是寫一個在「傷心的城市」內所發生的故事, 香港人的悲情故事..
你會怎樣面對傷痛呢？

i watched this movie months ago & really wanna share about it.. saw some reviews & people r comparing the movie with the novel.. i haven't read that novel, but i love this movie.. it had great cast: John Cusack, Rachel Weisz, Gene Hackman & Dustin Hoffman, all acted superbly.. it has a cat-and-mouse type plot.. intense but with good pacing, & some surprising twists and turns.. & it unfolds beautifully.. it's an interesting legal thriller story that would keep u wondering until the last minute..

Here's the summary i found online:
The Runaway Jury is a thriller about manipulating the outcome of a major trial.

Nicholas Easter (John Cusack) is a mysterious man selected for jury duty in a New Orleans trial against a national gun manufacturer. The trial is brought to court by the widow of a slain man who was executed in a mass shooting. Eleven were killed and five more were severely injured. The woman is suing the gun manufacturer for their liability in selling the gun used in the killing spree. Her attorney is Wendell Rohr (Dustin Hoffman), who is with tons of energy and flavor. On the other side of the courtroom sits Rankin Fitch (Gene Hackman), who is the big-shot 'hired gun' of the defendants.

However, neither of the lawyers yet know that they have very little to do with the final verdict. That verdict is for sale. The price is $10 million. The bribers are Marlee (Rachel Weisz) and Easter (John Cusack) himself, as the most influential member of the jury. They offer to sway the verdict to the highest bidder.

manipulating a panel of 12 people -- it's all about high-tech stalking, intimidation, daring & risk..

definitely recommending it!!

The Holiday

it's a romatic comedy.. a cute one.. it's a heartwarming & refreshing movie that i think it's best for the holiday season.. i was first attracted to this movie becoz of its idea of "exchanging home".. i heard about this "Home Exchange" (in real life) yrs ago; instead of staying in a hotel on vacation, people swap home.. i was excited to see that somebody is actually putting this idea in a movie..

two women with relationship problem, one in L.A. (Amanda) & one in London (Iris), decided to exchange homes during the Christmas holidays.. & each met a local guy in that foreign country during their stay, Amanda met Graham while Iris met Miles, & they fell in love with the guy.. it's actually two love stories instead of one..

two very different women who live 6,000 miles apart, falling in love in the opposite worlds.. each of the characters had their own "problem": Iris, being a wedding columnist in London's Daily Telegraph, couldn't get out of love with someone who wasn't treating her as a girlfriend; Amanda, the owner of a prospering advertising firm that creates movie trailers, couldn't commit in a relationship; Graham, a book editor, having a hard time revealing his real life to others; while Miles, a movie composer, always falling in love with the wrong women..
the story went very naturally.. & the characters seemed to have good on-screen chemistry too..

a little surprise was that.. when the two daughters were introduced into the movie.. i loved the tent scene where the four of them lying there & chatted.. so cute.. & i think Jude Law did a great job.. the "little secret" of him made his character even more adorable.. & the two girls were lovely..

also a funny little scene where Iris & Miles were in a movie rental store, when Miles was talking about the score in the movie "The Graduate", Dustin Hoffman (who starred in "The Graduate") was actually there to do a cameo..

& i must add.. the two houses were so wonderful.. Iris' English cottage was nice & cozy.. while i love Amanda's stylist house in Los Angeles too.. particulary the living room, which she had all her DVDs on shelves next to her big TV.. it was incredible.. LG & i were saying that we should set up our "future" home like this.. hee hee..

剛剛看完 "The Departed"..
由於我看過港版「無間道」, 所以並不能夠"客觀"地欣賞這套戲..
更不自覺地將兩者比較..
原來將這些劇照並排放在一起看時, 會覺得很有趣的!
