the owner, Simon, said all the items on menu are their own "favorite".. that's y their restaurant is called "Fav Cafe".. they play some English songs at the background.. & with many concert & music tour posters on wall.. very modern decor..

they served western soup during dinner.. & their dishes have no MSG.. all sauces are home-made.. since they want to make all dishes fresh, they won't pre-make their dishes so the wait time might be longer..

Tomato Bisque..

招牌紅酒牛尾 Signature braised oxtail in red wine reduction $10.95
..we tried their two signature dishes on our first visit..

印尼雞扒飯 Nasi goreng with Indonesian chicken steak $7.95
..i like the rice as it's 馬拉盞炒飯.. however, i don't really like the chicken..


in terms of drinks, they have freshly brewed coffee, which is good & it's western style.. (all other drinks are not worth trying..)

we also came here for lunch..
豬豬公司三文治 Piggy Clubhouse Sandwich $5.95
..this was just so-so.. as the 豬豬 just means ham + bacon..

意式茄汁豬扒包 Italian Style Pork Cutlet on Ciabatta bun $5.75
..this one was good.. as the tomato sauce made the pork cutlet taste extra good..

Lobster bisque $8.95
Steamed lobster meat simmered in original lobster bouillon & garnished with chives & crème fraiche


Clam chowder $6.95
Creamy clam soup with mignonette potatoes & double smoked bacon

Truffle wild mushroom soup $5.95
Sautéed wild mushrooms in original mushroom bouillon (non-dairy)
..very rich mushroom flavor... i found it a bit salty though..

Pan seared Ahi tuna 10oz $22.95
Seared with black & white sesame crust & served with wasabi soya sauce
..wasn't that flavorful.. but it's in big portion (there were 2 pieces)..


Filet mignon center cut 8oz $24.95

Special Surf & Turf $38

Linguine fruit de mere $18.95
Tiger shrimps, scallops, calamari, clam, mussel, & diced fish meat served in a rosé sauce
..we love the pasta.. very rich in ingredients & the sauce was great!

Thai Curry Vancouver Crab $18.95/lb
..we ordered a crab to share.. i guess we all prefer the Chinese style Curry Crab more..



the food were good in general.. however, if u want to stay longer to chit-chat with friends, u might want to go any day besides Friday.. we were asked to move to another table in the middle of our dinner, because they were going to have a free Salsa dancing class at 9pm.. but after they "moved" us, i guess they didn't expect us to eat anymore as they didn't give us any utensils back (not until we asked).. & no more service & we were a bit disappointed..
we did want to order desserts, but given the circumstances, we had to leave..

香蕉蛋糕 Banana Bread
(食譜參考: CR 簡易食譜)

thx my colleagues as they said it tastes like the one @ Starbucks!! LOL!!




材料 Ingredients :
3至4隻 熟透的香蕉(用匙羹壓爛)3-4 ripe bananas
1隻 雞蛋(打散) 1 egg (beaten)
1/3 杯 牛油(先行融化) 1/3 cup melted butter
1/2 杯 糖(如果喜歡深色些,可以用黃糖)1/2 cup sugar (use brown sugar if you want darker color)
1茶匙 雲呢拿香油 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1茶匙 蘇打粉 1 teaspoon baking soda
鹽少許 A bit of Salt
1 1/2杯 麵粉 1.5 cups flour
1/4 杯 牛奶 1/4 cup milk


做法:
1. 先把焗爐預熱到175C/350F.
2. 先把融化了的牛油加入壓爛的香蕉蓉中。混入糖,打散的蛋汁和雲呢拿。先加牛奶 1/4 杯(可在拌入麵粉後,視乎麵糊的濕度再加少許牛奶調節)。
3. 灑下蘇打粉和鹽入上述材料中,搞勻。分三次篩入麵粉,拌勻,沒有粒狀物。
4. 在6寸的 mini 糕盤底部及四週,輕輕掃上少許牛油。把拌好的粉漿倒入糕盤。放入焗爐約40-45分鐘。可以用一枝針插入中間部分,拿出的針沒有粉漿黏著的話,即是蛋糕熟了。放在鐵架上待涼。

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350F.
Mashed the bananas in a bowl; then blend in the melted butter.
Mixed with sugar, beaten egg and vanilla extract. Add in ¼ cup milk.
Add in baking soda & salt & mix well.
Sift the flour in (do it in 3 times), mix/blend well so that the batter is smooth.
Brush the pan with little bit of butter, then pour the batter into it (i used three 6” mini loaf pan).
Bake it for ~40-45 minutes.
Put a fork in the middle of the loaf & if it’s not sticky, then it’s done.
