12 Days Greek Isles Cruise - Day 10 Santorini, Greece

Day 10

it's a VERY windy day.. & a rough sea day.. & since Santorini is a tender port, it took us a while to get onto the tender boat..


we took the cable car up to the Town of Fira (4 Euros each way)..

some people chose to walk up to Fira.. or take the donkey ride..

Fira, Santorini's largest town, is a village of dazzlingly whitewashed houses clinging to steep volcanic cliffs..

we had to take a bus to travel from Fira to Oia.. & there was only 1 bus within an hour or 2 during weekdays, while the bus came only once in 2 hours during weekends!! & we came here on a Sunday so the bus was all packed!!!


Oia.. perched atop cliffs at Santorini's northernmost point, this small village has managed to escape the onslaught of modern tourism..

its narrow, cobblestone lanes reveal brilliantly whitewashed buildings, shops, cafes & domed churches...






we had lunch in Zafora Restaurant Cafeteria Bar.. it's the guaranteed store for Royal Caribbean & Celebrity Cruises.. we decided to have lunch in there..

afterall, we liked Mykonos more than Santorini..

(right) Mocha Souffle (Princess Cruises' Extraordinary Specialty, Enhanced with a Delightful Kahlua Foam)

there's a Champagne Waterfall Party that night @ 11:15pm.. there were 643 glasses in total.. music + dancing + drinking..
