12 Days Greek Isles Cruise - Day 9 Rhodes, Greece

Day 9

LG woke up early this day just to capture the sunrise @ Rhodes, the largest island of the Dodecanese..


the walk to Rhodes town from the pier is ~10 mins.. parts of the town are cobbled & on an incline.. u can find taxi & car rental right next to the port..

..this old, walled medieval city was home to the Knights of St. John.. the Knights' Road leads to the Palace of the Grand Masters, a fortress built to defend the town & its harbors..

..it's located near the entrance of the Old Town.. dated back to the 14th Century..

..begun in the early 14th century by the Knights of St. John, the palace was destroyed in 1856 & rebuilt in 1939..

it's a pretty relaxing day & half day is already enough for us to walk around the town of Rhodes.. we went back to our cruise ship for lunch & then walked back to the town to buy some souvenirs.. then again, watching movie "Pride & Prejudice" in our stateroom..
