the service is good here.. the servers r very nice & attentive..
Uni Handroll x2 $9
..有紫蘇葉 in it.. which i like it!!!
..very fresh sashimi.. & as u can see, their Amaebi is 牡丹蝦, but not the small 甜蝦..
Spider Maki $6.99
..crispy soft shell crab..
..fatty salmonIsaki Sashimi 伊佐木 $35 (2 eats+soup)
..it came directly from Japan.. the sashimi was thinly sliced..
this one is "thicker" & can feel the "texture" of the fish.. we like this one better..
..the soup was yummy.. usually with those fish soups, they put a lot of miso in it & almost cover the fish taste.. but this one has a strong fish flavor, with lots of veggie ingredients.. & it's in a large pot..
we have 10% discount because of their grand opening..
& total was $65.83 incl. tax..
very full & yummy dinner!!
we'll definitely come to try another fresh fish next time..

Yea! I tried this place before, and I was pretty impressed with their quality. Actually, their executive chef previously worked at Hisui Japanese Cuisine (玉) at McNicoll & Kennedy.
if you like 紫蘇葉, you can try La Cafe Michi @ 1802 Pharmacy Avenue. I went there tonight and had a hand roll with a full 紫蘇葉. Their service, food and cake are all good.
Hi, i'm not sure those leafs in your handroll is call 紫蘇葉 or basil in english, but i think it's call Perilla, in Japanese call Aoba or Aojiso, Japanese love to use it on everything, in 2009, even Pepsi Japan released a seasonal flavored using Aoba, call Pepsi Shiso, but i heard it taste weird, haha.
btw, like your blog.
thx Percy!
Service sucks!
sorry to hear that, Cynthia!
hope you'll find something better next time! :)
