LG & i wanna go to a cafe to have coffee & cake on Saturday.. LG suggested we try this patisserie.. when we looked inside, it was almost full house.. i guess everyone was having the $9.99 High Tea at that time.. & we decided to join them! :P

the waitress first asked us to choose our drinks.. we could choose from coffee, tea, or herbal tea 花茶.. i picked the herbal tea with lychee flavor.. LG had coffee, with sweet aroma (香濃)..

here are the 3-tiers English Style High Tea Set..

1st tier.. sandwiches.. one with chesse & ham, one with smoke salmon, one with sweet corn, ham, mayonnaise, etc.. the bread were very soft.. yum!

2nd tier.. scones.. not very strong butter taste which means good!

3rd tier.. mini creme brulee & macarons..
one of the macarons was wasabi & grapefruit, the other one was apricot & chocolate.. both tasted very good!! not too sweet..
LG told the waitress that the macarons tasted very good.. the waitress then told us that their pastry chef just came back from Paris, & it was their 1st time having macarons in High Tea..

during our stay, we saw many customers, who just finish having tea there, bought some cakes to go.. also there were customers who came pick up a pre-ordered cake.. the cakes did look so yummy.. i guess we'll try their cakes next time.. ZA did mention that they have freshly made soufflé every night.. yum!!

Is the high tea set shown in your pictures already for 2 persons?
So that means it costs $20?

OuuuuU that looks very nice & @ 9.99 only :D

btw BM I am on the hunt for some good oyster specials.. I usually goto Big Daddys b.c of their good selection & cheap pricing @ happy hours.. only a buck!! But recently the waitress told me it not consistent anymore.. since the malpqeues are out of season the happy hour now depends on the availability of the oysters they have on hand.. so we ordered the Beausoliel's; chepsapeake bay & island creeks which were really nice but a bit small for the price..

hi AW..
my friends & i used to go to Starfish for oysters, but they don't have special anymore (used to be $100 for 100 oysters).. so we usually will go buy oysters from Diana's Seafood & eat at home.. :)

Yah :( Starfish & the distillery
district was about 2.50-4.50 each .. so it adds up!

btw

Day & Night steak house has 100 malpeques/ Virginica though for $88 after 10 pm

but I didn't like it.. the sea urchin was very not plumped at all & lacked that rich creamy buttery texture.. *sigh*

If you find a new place be sure to share :)
